Some Men Cry

Men do cry. Deb Kosmer's poem takes a look at men and tears and how they are okay no matter how strong a man may think he is.

by Deb Kosmer

Two different men in two different houses

Two different husbands missing their wives

Two different stories with one common thread

Their wives died and they’re both alone

I sit with one now and one the week before

Both cried as they talked about their wives

People say Men don’t cry, Men shouldn’t cry

Men are afraid to cry, Men don’t know how to cry

Yet these men cry and unlike many women

Who apologize for their tears

These men do not apologize

Or ask for a Kleenex. They just cry

Because they are sad and because it is okay

To cry no matter who you are.
