Florence Scouten

July 31st, 1932 to April 6th, 2008


Fort Gratiot- Florence Joyce Flo Scouten, age, 75, went home to be

with the Lord on April 6, 2008 following a 3-year battle with cancer. She was born July 31, 1932 to the late Anthony and Erna (Reuter) Patz in Forestville, Michigan.

She was a devoted mother and grandmother. She enjoyed walking, yard

work, crossword puzzles, jigsaw puzzles and watching the Detroit

Redwings and Tiger baseball games. She was a huge fan of her two

grandsons, attending all their sporting events and activities.

Florence worked at Sperrys and Blue Water Plastics in St. Clair from

where she retired in 1999 earning the nickname Scooter.

She is survived by her sons, Stephen Scouten and Dave (Lisa) Scouten;

daughter, Deborah (Donald) Northrop; grandsons, Jason and Aaron

Northrop; step-granddaughters, Dayna and Danielle Landschoot; cousins,

Shirley (Bob) Riedel, Lois Dimick, Ron (Alice) Reuter and Rosemary

Lloyd; brothers-in-law, Lewis McKenna and Joel Scouten; sister-in-law,

Brenda Alexander; special friends, Marge (Don) Radske, Kathy (Jerry)

Prone and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, sister, Eleanor McKenna; brothers, Guy Reuter and Rudy Patz.

Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00 a.m. Wednesday in St. Marys

Catholic Church. The Rev. Simeon T. Iber will officiate. Burial will

follow in Woodland Cemetery. Visiting hours are 6:00 to

9:00 p.m. Monday and 2:00 to 4:00 and 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. Tuesday in the

Karrer-Simpson Funeral Home and 9:30 a.m. Wednesday at the church. Pallbearers will be Stephen and Dave Scouten, Donald, Deborah, Jason and Aaron Northrop. Contributions may be given to the wishes of the family or Blue Water Hospice.
