Herman G Adler

Herman G. Adler, 98, of Fort Gratiot, died Thursday, October 31, 2013, in Marwood Nursing and Rehab, following a short illness.

He was born April 8, 1915 in Ruth, Michigan. He married Sylvia Premier on August 10, 1940 in Ruth, MI. She preceded him in death on December 11, 2010.

He owned and operated his own cement contracting business and retired at age 67. He was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church and enjoyed fishing and traveling.

He is survived by a son, Gary (Barb) Adler of Port Huron; a daughter, Linda (Pete) Church of Rockton, IL, a son, Wayne “Butch” (Pam) Adler of St. Clair, and a daughter, Gloria (Russ) Wilson of St. Peters, MO; 13 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren; brother, Frederick Adler of Detroit, sister, Anna Sawielski of Harbor Beach and brother, Edward (Janet) Adler of Bad Axe.

He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Laura Adler and brother, John Adler.

A Mass of the Resurrection will be held at 10:00 A.M. Monday, November 4, 2013 in St. Mary Catholic Church, Port Huron. The Rev. Zbigniew Zomerfeld will officiate.

Visiting hours will be 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. Monday in the church.

Burial will be in Mt. Hope Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Brian Adler, Terry Hiller, Paul Sokol, Todd Taylor, Chris Guss and Larry Tenbush.

Memorials may be made to Marwood Nursing and Rehab - Hummingbird Wing.
