Joseph 'Paul' Russell

Joseph Paul Russell,

72, of Port Huron, died Tuesday, September 30, 2008 following a long

illness.



He was born May 21, 1936 in

Detroit and has lived in the area all of his life.



Paul graduated from St. Stephen

High School. He served in the U.S. Army and was a member of American

Legion Charles Hammond Post #8. Paul was a barber in the area for

many years. He raised horses and enjoyed harness racing.



Paul is survived by his brother,

Edmund Ray (Lois) Russell of Emmett; sisters, Joan (Robert)

Bowman of Tucson, AZ; Lenore (Robert) Busch of Elgin, AZ; his loving

companion, Judy Taylor of Port Huron and several nieces and nephews.



He was preceded in death by his

parents, Earl and Evelyn (Tierney) Russell and brother William

Russell.



Funeral services will be 10 am.

Saturday in St. Stephen Catholic Church. The Rev. Gary Tierney will

officiate. Burial will follow in Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Cemetery,

Emmett. Military honors will be held under auspices of the St. Clair

County Allied Veterans Council.



Visiting hours are 5 -8 pm Friday

in the Karrer-Simpson Funeral Home and 9 am. Saturday at the church.



Memorials may be given to St.

Stephen Catholic Church.
