Karen Symon

July 7th, 1943 to February 10th, 2014


Karen Symon, 70, of Fort Gratiot, passed away Monday, February 10, 2014, after a short illness.

She was born July 7, 1943 in Port Huron. She married Richard Symon on September 22, 1962 in Port Huron.

Karen retired from Port Huron Hospital after 18 years of service. She was a very active member of the Red Hat Society and enjoyed the many activities and luncheons with her wonderful friends. Her greatest enjoyment was spending time with her family.

She is survived by her husband of 52 years, Richard Symon; two daughters, Kimberlee (Marty) Flexter, and Anne (Frank) Mowinski; a son, Dean Symon; grandchildren, BrieAnne, Curtiss, Courtney, Tanner, Blake and Tyler; great grandchildren, Cayden and Owen; three step grandchildren; four step great grandchildren; a sister, Marion Winter; three brothers, David (Lynda) Winter, Gary (Bonnie) Winter and Rick Tosch; several nieces and nephews and good friends. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Ronald Winter and Dennis Tosch.

Funeral services will be held at 11:30 a.m. Thursday, February 13, 2014 in the Karrer-Simpson Funeral Home. Pastor Don Doerzbacher will officiate.

Visitation will be from 2 to 9 p.m. Wednesday, February 12, 2014 and from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. Thursday, February 13, 2014 in the funeral home.
