Adela

Rosalie Guba, 87, passed away Sunday, February 22, 2009 in Rochester,

MI.

She

was born December 30, 1921, in Deford, MI, the youngest of seven

children, to the late Michael and Katherine Thomas.

Adela

moved to Chicago, IL and worked for General Electric. Later, she

moved to Port Huron and was employed by Mueller Brass Company. Adela

and George Guba were married October 10, 1941 in Macon, GA while

George was stationed at Fort Benning, GA. In 1945, after the end of

WWII, Adela and George returned to Port Huron where they were

long-time area residents. She was a long-time member of St. Mary

Catholic Church, Port Huron.

She

is survived by her children, Barbara E. (David) Young of Harbor

Springs, Beverly E. Guba of Auburn Hills and George A. (Debra) Guba

of Clarkston; grandchildren, David E.(Colleen) Young, Kathryn

(Timothy) Connors, Jaclyn Guba, Caroline Guba and Lauren Guba; 5

great grandchildren; brother-in-law, John J Guba and many nieces and

nephews.

She

was preceded in death by George, her husband of 53 years, on

September 17, 1994.

Funeral

mass will be 10 a.m. Friday at St. Mary Church, Port Huron. The Rev.

Joseph Gagnon will officiate. Burial will follow in Mt. Hope

Cemetery.

Visiting

hours are 2-4 & 7-9 Wednesday and Thursday at Karrer-Simpson

Funeral Home and from 9:30 a.m. until the service time Friday at

church. A scripture service will be recited at 7 p.m. Thursday.
