Michael J. Course, 63, died at home

with his family by his side on Thursday, April 9, 2009, after a

courageous battle with cancer.

He was born October 2, 1945 in Port

Huron and was a lifelong resident. He married Ruthann A. Shaw on

October 20, 1973 in Port Huron.

Michael was a 1963 graduate of Port

Huron High School. He also attended St. Clair County Community

College. He worked in the parts department of various Ford

dealerships for over 30 years.

He coached girls softball for many

years through the city recreation department He enjoyed watching his

children and grandchildren's sports programs. His hobbies included

remote controlled cars, models and trucks. Most of all, he enjoyed

spending time with his family.

Michael is survived by his wife,

Ruthann A. Course of Port Huon; children, Carmella (Greg) Falecki of

Memphis, Jacqueline MacDonald of Port Huron, Adam J. (Danielle)

Course of Davison and Mandy Course of Port Huron; grandchildren,

Avery, Nolan, Jeffrey, Daniel, Joseph and Lyndsay; brother, James

(Mary Kay) Course of Ft. Gratiot; aunt, Ruth Woodward of Port Huron;

uncle, Jack (Mary Lou) Woodward of Bath; special cousin, Nan (Dave)

Perley of Port Huron; several sister-in-laws, nieces, nephews and

cousins.

He was preceded in death by his

parents, John and Marian Course, aunts, Agnes and Mary Josephine

Woodward, Elizabeth Morrison and Anna Ernst; mother and

father-in-law, Margaret and Delbert Shaw.

Memorial service will be 11 a.m.

Tuesday at Karrer-Simpson Funeral Home. The Rev. Timothy Eichberger

of Faith Lutheran Church will officiate.

Family will receive friends from 2-9

p.m. Monday and from 9 a.m. until the service time Tuesday at the

funeral home.

Memorials may be made to the wishes of

the family.
