Edgar D Mogle

Edgar Donald Mogle, Sr., 91, of Fort Gratiot Township, died Thursday, June 18, 2015.

He was born April 1, 1924 in Detroit, to the late Harry and Florence S. Mogle. He married Cleone E. Stay-Mullins on December 25, 1978 in Detroit.

Edgar attended Cass Tech High School in Detroit and served in the U.S. Navy for 4 years during World War II.

He was employed with Michigan Consolidated Gas Company, retiring in 1979.

Edgar volunteered and was a member of many organizations including Bruce VFW Post #1146 in St. Clair Shores, where he was past commander.

He loved his dogs, hunting and enjoyed watching the Detroit Lions and Tigers. The most important thing in his life was spending time with his family.

He is survived by his wife, Cleone; children, Edgar (Julie) Mogle, Jr. of Melvindale, Sue Mogle of Fort Gratiot, Robert (Beth) Mogle of Gaylord and Kathy Parsons of Cadillac; eight grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; stepchildren, Mike (Nancy) Mullins, Pat (Cindy) Mullins, Maureen Frix-Kitchel, Shelagh Czuprenski (fiancé, Nick), and Sean (Lisa) Mullins; and a brother, Don (Pat) Schultz of Warren.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, June 22, 2015 in Karrer-Simpson Funeral Home. The Reverend Max Amstutz will officiate.

Visitation will be 11 a.m. Monday until the time of service in the funeral home.

Burial will take place in Great Lakes National Cemetery, Holly.
