Bruce Richard Jobbitt, 64, of Port Huron, died Sunday, January 31, 2016 in his home, unexpectedly.
He was born March 27, 1951 in Port Huron to the late Richard W. and Laura J. Jobbitt. Bruce married Joan M. Wittstock on January 8, 1973 in the Newman Center in Port Huron.
Bruce was a 1969 graduate of Port Huron Catholic High School. He owned and operated Davis and Son Upholstery for 44 years. He enjoyed golfing, remodeling houses and collecting antiques.
He is survived by his wife, Joan; sons, Nicholas (Jillian) and Benjamin Jobbitt; brother, Thomas (Sheila) Jobbitt; sisters, Jeannine Freedom, Renee Jobbitt and Denise Gossman. He was preceded in death by his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Harvey and Joan Wittstock and brother-in-law, Harvey Wittstock.
Mass of Resurrection will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, February 4, 2016 in Holy Trinity Parish-St. Stephen Catholic Church. The Reverend Salvatore Palazzolo will officiate.
Visiting hours will be 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday in the Karrer-Simpson Funeral Home and 10 a.m. Thursday at the church.
Memorials may be made to the charity of the donor’s choice.
