Norma R Whybrew

February 27th, 1929 to October 2nd, 2016

Norma Ruth Whybrew, 87, of Port Huron, went to be with our Lord and loved ones on Sunday, October 2, 2016.

She was born February 27, 1929 in Port Huron to the late Merle and Marjorie O’Rourke.

Norma graduated from St. Stephen Catholic High School. She retired from Mueller Brass Company after working many years as an executive secretary.

She enjoyed golfing, bowling, dancing and shopping but most of all she loved spending time with her family. She hosted many holiday dinners and parties, with Christmas being her favorite.

Mrs. Whybrew was a member of the Port Huron Gardening Club and volunteered at Mercy Hospital for over 20 years, where she served as the buyer for the hospital gift shop. She was a devoted Catholic and was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church.

She is survived by her daughter, Kathleen Ferguson; three grandchildren, Michael (Krista) Kennedy, Terry (Tracie) Wright and Shannon Grant; eleven great-grandchildren, Amber Kennedy, Faye, Elise and Calvin Wright, Abigayle Grant, Lauren Samson, Daniel Dubuque, Brandon and Ashley Kammer, Casey Street and Ethan Albany; and five great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, Bud Whybrew, her brother, Gerald O’Rourke and stepdaughter, Barbara Whybrew.

Private family services have taken place.

Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer’s Foundation.
