William W Munce

William Walter Munce, 90, of Fort Gratiot, passed away peacefully on Sunday, January 1, 2017, in McLaren- Port Huron.

He was born February 12, 1926 in St. Thomas, Ontario, Canada to the late George and Hattie Munce. He married Katie Arlene Brown on November 3, 1946, in Haggersville, Ontario, Canada. She preceded him in death on February 22, 2010.

Bill worked his entire life on the railroads. He started as a telegraph operator for the Canadian National Railroad and finished his career as Vice President of operations for the Port Huron and Detroit Railroad. He lived in the Sanctuary at Mercy Village in Fort Gratiot, where he had many friends, and enjoyed every day with them.

He is survived by his four sons, Gary (Jo Ann) Munce of Chelsea, Barry Munce (Vicki Cutler) of Lexington, Cary (Karen) Munce of West Branch and Kim (Terry) Munce of Port Huron; several grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

Private family services will be held at a later date.
