Elizabeth Maes

Elizabeth Mary Maes, 94, of Lexington, died Tuesday, January 3, 2017.

She was born August 11, 1922 in Detroit, to the late George and Elizabeth Crandon. She married Walter Maes on November 28, 1942 in Detroit. He preceded her in death on March 16, 1993.

She was an avid antiquer and homemaker, who enjoyed gardening, outdoor living, shopping and loved her family.

She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Walter and Toby Maes; three daughters, Mary Ann La Monica, Liz Wodham and Jane Worden; eleven grandchildren, Christine, Jeff, Mark, Jennifer, Michael, Will, Josh, Chuck, Megan, Emily and David; fourteen and a half great grandchildren; and her siblings, James Crandon, Peggy Stein and Jerry Crandon and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by two sons-in-law, Nick La Monica and Charlie Worden.

Visitation will 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Sunday in the Karrer-Simpson Funeral Home.

Memorial Mass will be at 11 a.m. Monday, January 9, 2017 in St. Edward on-the-Lake Catholic Church. The Reverend Lee Acervo will officiate.

Memorials may be made to the wishes of the family.
