Madelin M Marcotte

June 20th, 1919 to February 17th, 2017

Madelin M. Marcotte, 97, of Port Huron, passed away peacefully in her sleep on Friday, February 17, 2017, after a battle with Alzhiemer’s disease.

She was born June 20, 1919 in Port Huron to the late Joseph and Meta Gregowski. She married Theodore E. “Ted” Marcotte on September 28, 1940 in Port Huron. He died April 16, 2005.

Madelin was a wife, mother, grandmother, homemaker and gardener. She enjoyed crafts, plastic canvas work, embroidery, knitting, crocheting and word search puzzles. She was a former member of the Christian Mothers at St Joseph Church, St. Anne’s Altar Society and the American Legion Auxiliary.

She is survived by her children, Marion (Robert) Zachos of Burton, Louise (John) Hicks of Kimball and Joseph (Char) Marcotte of Marine City; 8 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren.

Visiting hours will be 2-8 p.m. Wednesday and 10 a.m. until the service time Thursday at the funeral home.

Funeral Services will be 1 p.m. Thursday at Karrer-Simpson Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Mt. Hope Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to the wishes of the family to be used for Alzheimers’s research,
