Nicholas Joseph Thornton

January 3rd, 1996 to August 18th, 2010






On August 18, 2010, Nicholas Joseph Thornton joined the angels in heaven and other family members that went before him.

He was born January 3, 1996 in Farmington, Michigan and was a resident of Milford and Port Huron.

Nicholas loved music and actively played the piano and sang in the school choir. He made the show choir Center Stage at Milford High School. He loved playing cards with his great- grandmother Bonnie and playing games with his sisters, Catherine, Elizabeth and brother, David. Nicholas liked fishing, boating and golf. Most of all Nicholas loved life and all of his many friends.

He is survived by his parents, David J. & Sarah J. Thornton of Milford; brother, David J. Thornton, II of Milford; twin sisters, Catherine J & Elizabeth J. Thornton of Milford; grandparents, Joseph & Judy Smith and Clifford & Diana Thornton all of Port Huron; great-grandmothers, Dorothy Smith, of Port Huron, Bonnie Kinert of Port Huron and Pat White of Port Huron; uncle Stephen & aunt Jodi and Zach; godparents, uncle Tom & aunt Wendy, Tommy, Spencer and Madison; uncle Charles & aunt Mary, Cameron & Connor; uncle Terry & aunt Cherie, Michael, Chris & Samantha; aunt, Theresa & Jim, Amanda & Diana and several great-aunts, uncles, family & many friends.

He was preceded in death by his great-grandparents, Bertha & Clifford Thornton, J. Oscar Smith and Joseph Kinert.

Mass of Resurrection will be 11 am Monday in St. Mary's Catholic Church, Port Huron. The Rev. Ron Anderson, Pastor of St. Mary, Our Lady of the Snows Parish, Milford will officiate. Burial will follow in Mt. Hope Cemetery.

Visiting hours are 2-4 & 7-9 pm Sunday in the Karrer-Simpson Funeral Home and 10 am Monday at the church. A rosary will be recited at 7 pm Sunday evening.

Pallbearers will be, David Thornton, II, Stephen Smith, Tom Smith, Chuck White, Tom Smith, II and Zachary Smith. Honorary pallbearers are Cameron and Connor White.

Memorials may be given to the Ehlers Danlos Syndrome Foundation or the Milford High School Choir.
