Francis Dowling II
November 9th, 1928 to November 7th, 2010
Francis George Dowling II reunited in Heaven with loved ones Sunday, November 7, 2010. He was born to Murl and Francis Dowling of Brown City, MI. Francis resided most of his life in Brown City, MI with his wife Sonya Dowling who preceded him in death on June 10, 1985.
Francis is survived by his children Francis Dowling III of Almont, MI; Sharal Burton of Fort Gratiot, MI; Darlene Peterson of Port Huron; Linda Dowling and Christine Dowling both of Carrollton, MI. One of the most joyful things in Francis' life was seeing his eighteen grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his siblings, John Dowling of Whitter, CA; Charles Dowling of Swartz Creek, MI; Leota Kriener of Cass City; Viona Bowerson of Serling, MI; Vernita Bowerson of Berlin, MI; Clark Dowling of Caro, MI; Lois Hilgendorf of Prescott, MI and an infinite number of friends.
Preceding him in death were two daughters, Kathleen and Murl Jeanie Dowling; his brothers, William Dowling of Silverwood, MI; Forrest Dowling of Peck, MI and sisters, Anna Gubanche of Columbiaville, MI; and infant sister Duelda Dowling.
Francis retired from Buick Motors of Pontiac as a skilled laborer. He then worked for Tosch Auction Service for a number of years where he repaired and hauled farm equipment.
Cremation has taken place by his wishes. A Memorial Service will be held will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, November 16, 2010 at Calvary Bible Church in Lapeer.
The family has asked, in lieu of flowers, contributions be made to the wishes of the family or Calvary Bible Church.
