Marie E. "Mary" Schatzline

Marie E. “Mary” Schatzline, 93, of Port Huron died September 20, 2011 peacefully in her sleep.
She was born October 21, 1917 in Port Huron. She married Edward J. Schatzline on July 22, 1936 in Detroit. He preceded her in death on February 17, 1999.
Marie graduated Valedictorian of St. Stephens Class of 1934. She was a member of St. Stephens Catholic Church, St. Anne's Alter Society and the League of Catholic Women.
She is survived by her son, Paul E. (Frances) Schatzline of Flat Rock, MI; grandchildren, Elaine, Marian and Bethany; great granddaughters, Clarisse, Karen; sisters, Grace Weiland of Port Huron, Jeanette Yarc of Covina, CA; 8 nephews; 6 nieces and countless great nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her siblings, Anthony Mercurio, Giovannia Kohn, Alphonse Mercurio, and Joseph Mercurio.
Funeral services will be 10 am Friday, September 23, 2011 at St. Stephen Church. The Rev. Brian K. Cokonougher will officiate. Burial will be in Mt. Hope Cemetery. Pallbearers for Marie will be her nephews.
Visiting will be from 2-4 and 7-9 pm Thursday, September 22, 2011 at Karrer-Simpson Funeral Home and 9:30 am Friday at Church. League of Catholic Women Rosary will be recited at 3pm Thursday.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Anne's Altar Society at St. Stephen Church.
