Robert F Dailey

Robert F. Dailey, age 73, passed away on Tuesday, July 31, 2012 after a brave battle with Alzheimer’s Disease.

He was born February 3, 1939 in Jackson, MI, son of Cyril and Marion Dailey. He moved to Port Huron, MI with his parents as a young child. He attended St. Joseph's Catholic grade school and graduated from St. Stephen's High School in Port Huron. He received a Liberal Arts degree from St. Clair Community College.

Bob married Patricia A. Bartley of Croswell, MI on May 14, 1965, in St. Edward's on the Lake Catholic Church, Lakeport.

Bob enjoyed a forty four year career with Michigan National Bank. He started in Port Huron in 1957 and worked in various departments including Bookkeeping, Proof, Bank Manager, Installment Loans, Operations and Commercial Lending. In 1975, he transferred to Flint as President of Michigan National Bank Mid-Michigan. In 1982, he transferred to Oklahoma City as President of the Energy Division. In December of 1983, he transferred back to Flint as President of Michigan National Bank Mid-Michigan and was responsible for MNB-Saginaw and MNB-East Tawas. In 1986, he transferred to Grand Rapids as Commercial Business Manager for the West Region. In 1988, he transferred to Lansing as as Commercial Business Manager for the Outstate Region. In 1991, he became Commercial Business Manager for the East Area. In 1998, Bob was reassigned to Farmington Hills to begin work in the Credit Bureau. He ended his career there in 2001. Bob experienced many changes in the banking industry and loved his work. Bob was affiliated with many community organizations. At one time, he was involved with 17 different boards. He especially enjoyed the time spent in the Flint area.

Upon his retirement, he took his second passion more seriously—that being golf at the Flint Golf Club. You could find him almost every morning at the golf course with his friends.

Bob and his wife, Pat, enjoyed going for long walks each day. He especially liked the Genesys Health Park and all the people and dogs met along the way.

Bob is survived by his wife of 47 years, Patricia; two sisters, Margaret (William) Shain of Newington, CT and Patricia (Philip) Dowd of Manchester, CT; nephew, Andrew (Kristen) Dailey of Bloomfield Twp.; four nieces, Elizabeth Perdew of Knoxville, TN, Ann Margaret (Robert) Hodge of Knoxville, TN, Julie (Steven) Ripple of Newington, CT, and Deborah Shain (Robert Dinapoli) of Wethersfield, CT; great nephews, Justin Vallee` of Knoxville, TN, Austin Hodge of Knoxville, TN; great nieces, Miranda Price of Knoxville, TN and Sara Hodge of Knoxville, TN.

Bob was preceded in death by his parents, Cyril “Cy” and Marion Smith Dailey, his beloved maternal grandmother, Margaret Smith and his brother, William A. Dailey.

He shall be forever in our hearts.

Mass of Resurrection will be 10 am Friday, August 3, 2012 in St. Joseph Catholic Church. The Rev. Brian K. Cokonougher will officiate. Rite of Committal will be in Mt. Hope Cemetery.

Visiting hours will be noon - 8pm on Thursday in the Karrer-Simpson Funeral Home and from 9:30am Friday at the church.
