Janet L Moses

Janet Moses, 97, of Clyde Township was welcomed into heaven by God on Wednesday, August 22, 2012 surrounded by her family in her home.

She was born February 14, 1915 in Port Huron, a daughter to the late Jack and Ida (Young) McEachern.

Janet attended St. Stephens School through the 9th grade and continued at Port Huron High School until graduation in June 1934.

In Yale, Michigan, on September 20, 1934 she married Elsworth L. Moses. They started their life together in Port Huron raising six children. She and Elsworth enjoyed much traveling together. Elsworth built her dream home in 1967. They continued enjoying the family times until he passed away October 3, 1982 at the early age of 66.

Janet was an avid reader, loved gardening and enjoyed canning and cooking for everyone. She also enjoyed doing her crossword puzzles. Her biggest love and joy were her 18 grandchildren. She loved them all very much and eventually was blessed with 27 great grandchildren and 7 great great grandchildren.

Everyone welcomed her teaching of good morals, good manners, wisdom and a mountain of kindness. She was a remarkable woman.

Janet is survived by her children, Richard (Pat) Moses, John Moses, Helen “Joey” Brockway, Thomas (Sandy) Moses, Debra Furay and son-in-law Larry Urban; sister, June Short; sister-in-laws, Bette McEachern and Betty Moses and her faithful companion Kerby.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Elsworth; son-in-law, Clifton “Corky” Brockway; daughter, Joan “Tudy” Urban; daughter-in-law, Merle Moses; sisters, Marian Cairns, Helen Wagner, Josie McNeil and brother, Jack McEachern, Jr.

Funeral services will take place 10am Monday, August 27, 2012 in the Karrer-Simpson Funeral Home. Fr. Brian K. Cokonougher will officiate. Burial will take place in Sunset Memorial Gardens.

Visiting will be from 2-4 and 6-8 pm on Sunday in the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be her grandsons, Richard Moses, Jr., Gerald Moses, John Moses, Jr., Robert Moses, Darrick Brockway, Lorman Urban, Thomas Moses, Jr. and Kevin Furay.

Memorials may be made to Blue Water Hospice in Janet’s name.
