Rita A. Balconi, 93, of Ft. Gratiot, died December 17, 2012 in Mercy Village.
She was born October 21, 1919 in Detroit. Rita married John C. Balconi. He preceded her in death in 1993.
She was a master Bridge player and loved to knit and crochet. She was member of St. Edward on- the-Lake Catholic Church.
Rita is survived by her daughter, Sandra A. (Charles) Verga of Burtchville; son, John (Michalene) Balconi of Hiwassee, Virginia; six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren with one on the way.
Mass of Resurrection will be 10 am Thursday, December 20, 2012 in St. Edward-on-the-Lake Catholic Church. The Rev. Lee Acervo will officiate.
Visiting will be from 7-9 pm on Wednesday in the Karrer-Simpson Funeral Home and from 9 am Thursday at church.
Memorials for Rita may be made to St. Edward-on-the Lake Catholic Church.
