Norman Louis Sturdevant PORT HURON - Norman Louis Sturdevant, age 51 of Port Huron, went to be with the Lord suddenly on Thursday, March 1, 2007, in Port Huron Hospital. He was born August 9, 1955 in Port Huron, graduated from Port Huron Northern High School in 1973, and joined the United States Marine Corps, eventually serving in Hawaii. Norman married the love of his life, JoAnna (Schultz) Rutkofske on December 23, 1981 in Gillette, WY. Norm was a devoted and beloved husband, father, and grandfather, and is survived by his wife of 25 years, JoAnn Sturdevant; his mother, Jane Sturdevant of Port Huron; his three children: Tanya (Bryan) Keefe of Port Huron, Arthur "best bud" Sturdevant of Port St. Lucie, FL, and Heidi "Bug" Sturdevant of Kalamazoo, MI; his six grandchildren: Kyle, Brandon, Christopher, Breyja, Orin, and Annabelle Keefe of Port Huron, MI; his sister, Sally London of Port Huron, MI; his father-in-law, Edwin C. Schultz; several brothers- and sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles, and his very dear friends, including Michelle Gordon, Richard Hart, Jeff Walthorn and Chris Kliemann. He was preceded in death by his father, Louis Meyer Sturdevant; and his beloved grandparents, Hilda Jolin Seagrave, and Norman Seagrave. Norm loved his family, his childhood summer trips to Camp Leelanau, traveling, golfing, and the New York Giants. He was amazing with his children and grandchildren, had a wicked sense of humor, and was one of the greatest people in the world to take a road trip with. "Ga Ga" will be sorely missed. Norm was a very generous man. He was a former Boy Scout, who served as an acolyte at St. Paul's Episcopal Church in his youth. He was a volunteer for the Port Huron City Beautification Committee, played "chef" for the youth group at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Blue Water Mental Health, the Nutcracker Ballet, as well as the Port Huron Hospital Festival of Trees. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Grace Episcopal Church. The Rev. Robert Trask, Rector will officiate. Visiting hours are 6-9 p.m. Monday at Karrer-Simpson Funeral Home.
