Frances 'Jerre' Rousseau

Frances G. "Jerre" Rousseau, 86, of Port Huron but formerly of Grosse Pointe Woods and Harrisville, died Monday, July 23, 2007 after a short illness. She was born July 15, 1921 in Swanton, Ohio and has lived in Port Huron since 2002. Jerre married Charles F. Rousseau November 28, 1942 in Swanton, OH. She was a member of St. Mary Church and the Port Huron Museum. Jerre was devoted to her family. She enjoyed cooking, travel and art; she was a nature lover and was particularly interested in flowers, aquariums and zoos. She was a very creative person. Jerre is survived by her husband, Charles of Port Huron; her daughter, Renee L. (Edmond) Carleton of Lexington; grandchildren, Anne O. (Kevin) Coughlin of Cuyahoga Falls, OH, Sharon R. Rousseau, Daniel Rousseau and Rebecca Rousseau, all of Batavia, Il; great grandchildren, Kathryn M. And Elizabeth G. Coughlin of Cuyahoga Falls; daughter-in-law, Karen R. Rousseau of Batavia; and her brother, Thomas (Sally) Pilliod of Ft. Myers, FL. She was preceded in death by her sons, Charles Peter and Thomas Leo Rousseau; parents, Thomas and Leona Pilliod; sister, Emma Pruden and brother, George Pilliod. Funeral services will be held at 12 Noon Saturday in St. Mary Church, Port Huron. The Rev. Simeon T. Iber, pastor will preside. Burial will be in Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Southfield. Visiting hours are 3:00 to 8:00 p.m. Friday and 11:00 to 11:30 Saturday at Karrer-Simpson Funeral Home with a Scripture Service at 7:30 p.m. Memorials in Jerre's memory may be made to Habitat for Humanity, St. Mary's Parish Capital Campaign or Parkinson's Disease Foundation.
