William Sterosky

January 16th, 1917 to November 19th, 2007
William J. Sterosky, 90, of Port Huron Township, died Monday, November 19, 2007 after a one month illness. He was born January 16, 1917 in Port Huron and was a life long resident. Bill married Shirley Jean Thompson, June 3, 1939 in Port Huron. She preceded him in death December 24, 1998. Bill was a retired employee of Ford Motor Co. He was a veteran of WWII serving with the Army in the European Theatre. He was a member of St. Stephen Church, Charles Hammond Post#8, American Legion, B.P.O.E. #343, L.O.O.M. #158, Eagles Lodge Aerie 3702 and the Lambton Canadian Belgian Dutch Club. Bill loved to dance. He also raced cars and flew his own airplane. He enjoyed boating and motorcycles. Bill is survived by his daughters, Judith A. Cook (Jim Bodrato) of Las Vegas, NV and Sue E. Nichols of Burton, MI, sons, William J. Sterosky, III of Clyde and Timothy B. (Leonora) Sterosky of Port Huron Township; a sister, Connie Knapp of Port Huron; 14 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren and 3 great great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by four sisters, one brother and his son-in-law, Bud Nichols. Funeral services will be held at 12:30 p.m. Monday in St. Stephen Church. The Rev. Brian K. Cokonougher, Pastor, will preside. Burial will be in Mt. Hope Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Greg, Jeff and Keith Nichols, Tom, Jr. and Randy Cook and Bill Summers. Visiting hours are 2 to 4:00 and 7 to 9:00 p.m. Sunday in Karrer-Simpson Funeral Home. Memorials in Bill's memory, may be made to Blue Water Hospice.
