Richard J. Tomlinson, 81, of East China Twp, died Tuesday, February 4, 2014 in Marwood Nursing and Rehab.
He was born December 8, 1932 in Richmond, MI, son of the late Clifford and Mary (Recker) Tomlinson.
Richard married Elaine M. Cavis on May 28, 1955 in St. Stephen Catholic Church.
He was a 1952 graduate of St. Stephen High School. He served in the U.S. Army and worked as a carpenter for many years. Richard enjoyed boating, bowling and spending time with family and friends.
He is survived by his wife, Elaine M. Tomlinson of East China Twp; son, Richard (Vivian) Tomlinson of Seabrook, TX; son, Mark (Christine) Tomlinson of Farmington Hills; son, Craig (Megan) Tomlinson of Livonia; daughter, Susan (John) Robinson of Grosse Ile; grandchildren, Alexis and Sara Tomlinson, Luke, Gina, Maria and Jake Tomlinson, Libby, Nathan, and Matthew Tomlinson and Jonathan, Jenny and Joey Robinson; sisters, Theresa (Bill) Jacobson of Port Huron and Rosie Cummings of Port Huron; brother-in-law, Tony (Janelle) Cavis of St. Clair and many nieces and nephews.
Mass of Resurrection will be 11am Saturday in Holy Trinity Parish-St. Stephen Catholic Church. The Reverend Brian K. Cokonougher will officiate. Military honors will be held under auspices of the U.S. Army and the St. Clair County Allied Veterans Council.
Visiting hours are 3-9 pm Friday in the Karrer-Simpson Funeral Home and 10am Saturday at the church. A rosary will be recited at 7pm on Friday evening.
