Gerald T. Riddell, 79, of Kimball, died Thursday, March 13, 2014 in St. Joseph Mercy - Port Huron.
He was born September 16, 1934 in Port Huron to the late Harry B. and Vida A. (Glyshaw) Riddell. He married Judith A. Papineau on August 2, 1958 in Port Huron.
Gerald served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. He was employed at London’s Dairy from 1958 to 1979 and the St. Clair County Sheriff Department for 40 years and was very active in 4-H and the Fair Board. He loved hunting and fishing and was very much “a family man.”
He is survived by his wife, Judith A. Riddell of Kimball; a daughter, Lisa (Tom) Carr of Fort Gratiot, a daughter, Lori (Mike) Johnson of Fort Gratiot, a son, Gerald (Sheila) Riddell Jr. of Kimball, a son, Scott (Angie) Riddell of Jeddo, a daughter, Shari (Curt) Haddix of Kenockee, and a son, Paul (Cissy) Riddell of Kimball; 16 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; a brother, Ron Riddell of Clay Township; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his brother, George Riddell and his sister, Joyce Morrissey.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, March 17, 2014 in the Karrer-Simpson Funeral Home. The Reverend Thomas Seppo will officiate. Military honors will be held under the auspices of the United States Army and the St. Clair County Allied Veterans.
Visitation will be from 2 to 9 p.m. Sunday, March 16, 2014 and from 12 noon until service time on Monday in the Karrer-Simpson Funeral Home.
Memorials may be made to St. Clair County 4-H.
