Patsy Jean Gates, 67, of North

Street, died Wednesday, November 26, 2008 in Karmanos Cancer Center,

Detroit following a short illness.

She was born January 22, 1941 in

Port Huron, daughter of the Roy and Mabel (Jones) Groh..

Patsy married Pete L. Gates on

September 14, 1984 in Port Huron.

She enjoyed sewing, gardening and

was a superb cook. Patsy was a homemaker who cared and loved her

family very much. Patsy and her husband Pete were very generous in

giving and donating to those who were less fortunate and needy.

Patsy is survived by her husband

Pete L. Gates of North Street; son, Mark Morden of Spartanburg, SC;

daughter, Karen (Joseph ) Gates of Port Huron; son, Greg (Jennifer)

Morden of Kimball; step-daughter Sherry Gates of St. Clair; step-son,

Steven (Billie) Gates of Port Huron; step-daughter, Julie Gates of

Port Huron; grandchildren, Brandon, Justine and Abagail Morden,

Correy and Angel Gates; brother, Richard Groh and Joe Cuttiford of

Venice, FL; brother, Ron (Nancy) Groh of Venice, FL; sister-in-law,

Bev (Mel) Maxon of Port Huron; brother-in-law, Ron (Helen) Morden of

Port Huron and other Morden Family Members; brother-in-law, Hank

(Myrna) Gates of Goodells; sister-in-law, Donna (Wayne) Light of

Buckley; brother-in-law, Jim Gates S.J. of Clarkston; sister-in-law,

Ann (John) Falk of Smiths Creek; brother-in-law, Marv (Nancy) Gates

of Corpus Christi, TX and 40 nieces, nephews, grand-nieces and

grand-nephew

She was preceded in death by her

first husband Leland J. Morden and brother-in-law Hooner Gates.

Visitation will be 2-4 and 7-9 pm

Friday in the Karrer-Simpson Funeral Home. A scripture service will

be held at 8 pm.

Funeral services will be held at

12:30 pm Saturday in the Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Ruby

Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations may

be given to the Mid City Nutrition Center, Port Huron.
