Theresa A MacMillan
January 26th, 1930 to May 21st, 2014
Theresa A. MacMillan, 84, of Fort Gratiot passed on to be with the Lord, May 21, 2014 with her family at her side at Port Huron Hospital.
Theresa was born January 26, 1930 in Walkerton, Ontario Canada. She was the daughter of the late Arthur and Nelli Schnurr. She married Myles “Joe” MacMillan July 2, 1951. He preceded her in death on September 4, 2010
Theresa’s greatest joy was spending time with her family and grandchildren. She retired from Incorporation To Maximize Personal Achievement with Community Training (IMPACT- Simpson Rd Group Home), after several years of service to the mentally challenged population. Prior to her service with IMPACT she worked for Goodwill and the St. Clair County ARC.
Along with her husband of 59 yrs. they ran and operated the MacMillan Grocery Store. She was also a founding member of St. Mary’s’ Catholic Church in Port Huron.
She is survived by her children, Anna Mae(Charles) Milner of Sarnia; daughter Patricia Semrow of North street; son Terrance (Barbara) of Jeddo; James (Theresa) MacMillan of Fort Gratiot; Daughter Peggy (Lou ) Guyette of Fort Gratiot; Daughter Jackie (Joseph) Lucas of Austin Texas; Grandchildren, Lauren and Scott Milner, Corey and Tracy Semrow, Trevor and Heather Semrow, Tim Condo and Kim Patterson, Sarah, Katie, and Terry MacMillan, Nicole and James MacMillan, Lindsey and Jamie West, Justin, Katie, Andre and Penny Guyette, Carissa and Kendall Lucas; great grandchildren, Kylie and Myles Guyette, Rolland West, Madison Semrow, Gavin, Zachary, Karissa Condo; Sister Irene Marriott, Brother Donald (Joan) Schnurr and Ann Helwig. She was preceded in death by her brother Jack Schnurr, two sisters Margaret Bogdon, Helen McShane and Grandson Joseph Milner and son- in-law Karl Semrow.
Visitation will be from 3 to 9 p.m. Friday May 23, 2014 in the Karrer-Simpson Funeral Home and from 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday in St. Mary’s Catholic Church. A Rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. on Friday May 23, 2014 in the funeral home.
Mass of the Christian Burial will be held at 11a.m. Saturday May 24, 2014 in St. Mary’s Catholic Church. Father Joseph Gagnon will officiate.
Burial will be in Mt. Hope Cemetery.
