Elaine M Klais

Elaine M. Klais, 88, of Port Huron, was called home to the Lord on Friday, June 13, 2014.
She was born July 20, 1925 in Dearborn to the late Anthony and Elsie Stemler. She married Harold K. Klais on February 19, 1949 in Dearborn. He died October 12, 1992.
Elaine was a graduate of Fordson High School. She worked for the Dearborn Police Department and Ford Motor Company.
She was a concert pianist and singer and was a member of the senior orchestra for many years. She was very active at the Port Huron Senior Center. She was a very devout Catholic and was active with the Missionary Oblates of Mary Immaculate. She loved doing crossword puzzles and playing pinochle.
Elaine was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandma. She loved life and will be sadly missed and forever in her family’s hearts.
She is survived by her daughter, Donna Marie Klais Kuehn; sons, Gregory M. (Julie) Klais and David H. Klais; grandchildren, Kristy Henderson, Michael Klais, Karlee Kuehn, Rebecca Klais and Heather Klais; great grandchildren, Gabriel, Jocelyn, Trevor, Nicole, D.J., Brianna and Kaylee; nephew, Glenn A. Lewsick.
She was preceded in death by her sister, Vivian Lewsick.
A Mass of Resurrection will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at St. Mary Catholic Church. The Rev. Zbigniew Zomerfeld will officiate. Burial will follow in Mt. Hope Cemetery. Visiting will be from 10 a.m. Tuesday until the service time at church.
Memorial donations in honor of Elaine may be directed to the Council on Aging.
