Joseph Samuel Pung, Sr., 57, died

December 31, 2008, after battling a long illness.

He was born January 29, 1951 in St.

Clair to the late Roy and Vera Pung. He married Margaret Charron on

June 17, 1972.

He was a 1969 graduate of Marysville

High School. He attended St. Clair County Community College and

graduated from Ferris State University HVAC program.

Joe was a master plumber and held a

builders license and numerous unlimited heating, cooling, mechanical

and boiler repair licenses. He worked for Vincents Heating and

Cooling and Watson Brothers. He started his own business, Pung

Plumbing, Heating and Cooling and Bassett Welding.

He was an able bodied seaman and

sailed on the Sparrows Point and the Arthur B. Homer for

Bethleem Steel. He was a zone chairman for the Smiths Creek Lions

Club.

He will be sadly missed by his family

and numerous friends.

He is survived by his wife, Margaret;

children, Joseph Jr. (Julie) Pung; Mary Margaret Pung (fiance Kenny

Hohmann); granddaughter, Jacalynn Diane Pung; brothers, Ervin

(Christine) and Roy Pung; sister Gertrude Foster (fiance David

Nowicki) and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral Mass will be 10 a.m. Monday at

St. Stephen Church. The Rev. Brian K. Cokonougher will officiate.

Burial will follow in Caswell Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Paul

Kuss, Jess Vickery, Barry Cook, Charles Kulman, Chuck Kulman, II,

Dave Nowicki, Bob Carrier and Jim Patterson. Honarary pallbearers

will be Jody Kulman, Daniel, Brandon, Aaron, Roy, Patrick and James

Pung, John Willinais and Chad Best.

Visiting hours are 4-9 p.m. Saturday

and Sunday at Karrer-Simpson Funeral Home and 9 a.m. until the

service time Monday at church. A rosary will be recited at 5 p.m.

Sunday with a time for sharing stories and memories immediately following.

Memorials may be made to the wishes of

the family.
