Elizabeth N Byington

Elizabeth “Betty” Byington, 96, of Port Huron, went to be with the Lord on Monday, January 19, 2015 in her home.
She was born November 30, 1918 in Port Huron to the late Lawrence and Marguerite Glaab. She was a lifelong area resident. She married Russell Byington on September 23, 1947 in Port Huron. He preceded her in death on March 14, 1992.
Betty was a 1936 graduate of St. Stephen High School. She was a member of Holy Trinity parish for many years.
She is survived by her sons, Dr. David L. (Liz) Byington of Ada, Michael J. (Mary) Byington of Marysville; daughters, Ellen (Charles) Atkins and Kristine Byington both of Port Huron; grandchildren, James Byington, Melanie Atkins, Dawn (Ray) Bailey and Erin Byington; great grandchildren, T.J., Allison, Cebastion and Gabe Sanchez, Nathan and Ryan Bailey, Brenden Maxwell; sister, Hariett (Bud) Rowbotham.
She was also preceded in death by her brother, Wilson Glaab and her sister, Eunice Ernst.
A memorial mass will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at St. Stephen Catholic Church. The Rev. Brian K. Cokonougher will officiate. A rosary will be recited at 10 a.m. Saturday at the church
Burial will be in Mt. Hope Cemetery.
