Betty J. Sheets, age 77, of Lakeport,

died Wednesday, March 4, 2009 in her home following a long illness.

She was born June 4, 1931 in Hazel

Park and has lived here for the past 10 years.

She married Earl L. Sheets on

November 11, 1950 in Ferndale.

Betty was a member of Holy

Redeemer Lutheran Church. She was a gifted quilter and enjoyed

gardening.

She is survived by her husband

Earl L. Sheets of Lakeport; daughters, Dawn R. (Raymond) Manceau of

Jeddo and Kim R. (Tom) McKinnie of Lexington; 6 grandchildren and 1

great-grandson.

Betty was preceded in death by her

parents Joseph and Elizabeth Steele.

Funeral services will be 11 am

Friday in Holy Redeemer Lutheran Church. The Rev. James L.

Langebartels will officiate. Burial will follow in Lakeport

Cemetery.

Visiting hours are 2-5 and 7-9 pm

today in the Karrer-Simpson Funeral Home and 10:30 am Friday at the

church.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may

be given to Holy Redeemer Lutheran Church
