Gayle I. (Gates) Fredendall, 71, died Sunday, March 1, 2015.
She was born April 15, 1943 in St. Clair to the late Leo and Ida (Jehle) Zimmer.
Gayle was a retired Marysville school teacher, where she taught at Gardens School. She enjoyed gardening, barbecues, traveling, camping, reading and spending time with her family.
She is survived by her children, Patric Henry (Roxane) Gates and Meredith Anne Gates; grandchildren, Tyler Robert Gates, Nicholas Patrick Gates, Brook Lynn Gates and Justin Gerald Gates; step-children, Jon (Jackie) Fredendall, Janis (Dave) Collins, Julie (Greg) Klais and Jack (Joan) Fredendall; 9 step grandchildren; 15 step great grandchildren and 2 step great-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husbands, Gerald “Hooner” Gates and Leroy Fredendall and her brother Butch Zimmer.
Funeral Mass will be 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Stephen Catholic Church. The Rev. Brian K. Cokonougher will officiate. Burial will follow in Woodland Cemetery.
Visiting hours will be 1-3 & 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at Karrer-Simpson Funeral Home and from 9:30 a.m. until the service time at Thursday at church.
