Wayne T. Carter, 64, of Port Huron, died unexpectedly on Wednesday, March 4, 2015, in his home.
He was born January 13, 1951 in Flint to the late James and Marjorie Carter. He married Linda E. Barnhart on June 20, 1981 in Port Huron.
Wayne was a 1969 graduate of Farmington Hills High School and served in the U.S. Navy from 1969 to 1992. He was formerly employed at Chrysler Corporation as an electrician and loved to read science fiction books and spend time with his grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife, Linda E. Carter of Port Huron; daughters, Amanda G. Carter of Clermont, FL and Rachel M. (Patrick R.) Fox of Port Huron; son, Andrew J. Carter of Port Huron; grandchildren, Savannah and Patrick W. Fox; sister, Doris (Rick) Clements; brothers, Arthur (Cheryl) Carter, Robert (Louise) Carter, William (Mary) Carter and Walter Carter.
Funeral Services will be held at 5:00 p.m. Monday, March 9, 2015 in the Karrer-Simpson Funeral Home. The Reverend Robert Diehl of St. Paul’s Episcopal Church will officiate. Military honors will be conducted under auspices of the U.S. Navy and the Veterans Honor Guard Alliance.
Visiting hours will be 2-8pm Sunday, March 8, 2015 in the funeral home.
Memorials may be made to the Blue Water Humane Society.
