Geneva M Sharpe

Geneva M. Sharpe, 99, of Emmett, died Thursday, April 23, 2015 in McLaren - Port Huron Hospital.
She was born January 15, 1916 in Grand Ledge, MI, the daughter of the late Samuel and Ruby Holsworth. She married John A. Sharpe on January 10, 1936 in the Blessed Sacrament Cathedral in Detroit. He preceded her in death on June 17, 1995.
Geneva was a life member of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church, was past regent-member of the Daughters of Isabella and started the Senior Citizens of the Church.
She was a life member of Ladies Auxiliary of Gleason Butler Sharpe, Emmett VFW Post #5585 and a life member of Marysville American Legion Auxiliary Post #0449 where she was a gold star mother. She loved to travel, play the piano, organ and ukulele.
She is survived by her children, John (Bernadette) Sharpe, Mary Shafran, Jim (Diane) Sharpe, Frank (Bonnie) Sharpe, Peggy (Frank) Hein, Joe (Donella) Sharpe, Katie (Andrew) McClelland, Larry (Betty Jo) Sharpe, Michael (Debbie) Sharpe, Terry (Denise) Sharpe, Clare Sharpe, Sue (Al) Smith, Gina (Dean) Moran; 36 grandchildren; 63 great-grandchildren; 20 great-great grandchildren; three sisters and three brothers; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her sons, Thomas, Hugh and Luke Sharpe, grandsons, Ryan Pruitt, Steven Thompson and two brothers and one sister.
Mass of the Resurrection will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, April 28, 2015 in Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church, Emmett. The Reverend Thomas Mullally and the Reverend H. Thomas Kuehnemund will officiate.
Burial will be in Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Cemetery, Emmett. Pallbearers will be Derek Pruitt, Alex Newby, Brandon Smith, Trevor Sharpe, Steven Kaniuk and Johnathan Shafran. Honorary pallbearers will be Nicholas Shafran, Adam Newby and Nigel Elliott.
Visitation will be 4 to 9 p.m. Sunday, 2 to 9 p.m. Monday in the Karrer-Simpson Funeral Home and 10 a.m. Tuesday until the time of service at the church. A Rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. Monday in the funeral home.
The Ladies Auxiliary of Gleason Butler Sharpe, Emmett VFW Post #5585 will conduct a Memorial Service at 7 p.m. Sunday in the funeral home.
