Jeanette O Wyllie

Jeanette O. Wyllie, 102, of Port Huron, died Wednesday, July 29, 2015, in Regency on the Lake, Fort Gratiot.

She was born November 2, 1912 in Port Sanilac, to the late Guy and Pearl Markle. She married Vincent R. “Bud” Wyllie on February 3, 1940 in St. Stephen Church, Port Huron. He preceded her in death on May 30, 1977.

Mrs. Wyllie was a 1931 graduate of Carsonville-Port Sanilac High School and was a 1934 graduate of the Port Huron Hospital Nursing Program. She was employed as an OB Nurse at Port Huron Hospital, retiring in 1974.

She was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church, volunteered at the Red Cross and the Mid-City Nutrition Center. She enjoyed bowling and dancing.

She is survived by her sons, James V. (Holly) Wyllie of North Troy, VT and Dennis J. Wyllie of Port Huron; four grandchildren, Andrew T. (Jessica) Wyllie, Benjamin E. (Tyler) Wyllie, Sarah E. (Matthew) Johnson and Wesley H. (Nessie) Siler; and nine great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews, especially Marilyn Wyllie; and special caregiver, Lisa Beaudin. She was preceded in death by her two great-grandchildren, Evan and Baptiste Wyllie, her granddaughter-in-law, Laurence Wyllie, and her sister, Marion Thiele.

Mass of Resurrection will be held at 11 a.m., Wednesday, August 5, 2015 in St. Mary Catholic Church, with visitation one hour prior to the service. Reverend Zbigniew Zomerfeld will officiate.

Burial will be in Mt. Hope Cemetery.

Visitation will be 2 to 5 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m., Tuesday, August 4 in the Karrer-Simpson Funeral Home. A Rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. Tuesday evening in the funeral home.

Memorials may be made to the charity of the donor’s choice.
