Cecilia A Miller
September 5th, 1934 to September 25th, 2015
Cecilia Ann (Bauer) Miller, 81, passed away peacefully with her family at her side on Friday, September 25, 2015.
She was born September 5, 1934 in Port Huron.
Cecilia was a lifelong resident of Port Huron, attending St. Joseph Elementary School and graduating from St. Stephen Catholic High School in 1952. She was a lifelong member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and at the young age of 14 played the organ for services. Throughout her working career, she was employed by Prestolite, Woman’s Life Insurance and The Times Herald/USA Today.
She was known as “BA” to family and friends.
Cecilia was a loving and devoted mother of Anna (Ross) Dunning, Duncan, SC, Leonard “Chip” (Polly) Miller, Fort Gratiot, MI, Cecilia (Robin) Gallmeyer, White Lake, MI, Carol Miller, Cornelius, NC and Thomas (Linda) Miller, Apex, NC. The centers of her life were her 13 beautiful grandchildren: Kristopher and Jordan Dunning, Andrew and Jacob Miller, Marissa, Malina and Mahana Gallmeyer, Alexa and Carlyn Miller, Mackenzie and Hannah Miller and Kelsey and Grace Francella (by daughter in friendship Barbara Francella); she is also survived by her sister, Barbara. Two of her best and most supportive friends were Marilyn and Robin Bright.
She was preceded in death by her parents Louis and Rose Bauer and her sister Rosemary.
Cecilia was very generous and a great example of selfless giving. She had a great sense of humor. She touched many lives in small quiet ways. Many will always remember her sugar cookies, “family secret” raisin cookies and fresh apple pies. She enjoyed shopping, bargain hunting, gift giving, bingo, lottery tickets, Elvis, but mostly spending time with her children and grandchildren.
Mass of Resurrection will be 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, September 29, 2015 at Holy Trinity Parish - St. Joseph Catholic Church. Reverend Jeffrey Allan and Reverend George Askar will officiate.
Burial will be in Mt. Hope Cemetery.
Visitation will be 2-5 and 7-9 p.m. Sunday and Monday in the Karrer-Simpson Funeral Home and 1:00 p.m. Tuesday until the time of service at the church.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the wishes of the family.
