John Owen Schuck, 68, of Port Huron, died Thursday, November 12, 2015 in Ann Arbor.
He was born October 15, 1947 in Port Huron to the late Harold A. and Irene E. Schuck. He married Kathleen Spanke on June 26, 1970 in Warren.
John was a 1965 graduate of Port Huron High School and attended St. Clair County Community College and Wayne State University.
He served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam era from December 1970 until September 1972 in the 1st Field Army Support Command based at Fort Lee, VA.
Mr. Schuck was employed as an insurance agent with State Farm Insurance in Port Huron, retiring in 2013, after 38 years of service.
He enjoyed golfing, fishing, playing with his grandchildren and relaxing on his beach in Caseville.
He is survived by his wife, Kathleen; three children, Aaron J. Schuck, of Altamonte Springs, FL, Meredith I. (Thomas) Middlin of Saginaw and Amanda K. (Matthew) Salmon of Grand Ledge, MI; four grandchildren, Lucas L. Middlin, Veda R. Middlin, Nolan J. and Holden B. Salmon; two sisters, Lois K. (James) Arnold of Raleigh, NC, and Kristine V. (Dan) Root of Wake Forest, NC; sister-in-law, Rebecca Schuck of Port Huron; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Reverend Leigh F. Schuck.
Visitation will be from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday and 10 to 11 a.m. Tuesday in the Karrer-Simpson Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, November 17, 2015, in the Karrer-Simpson Funeral Home. The Reverend Don Doerzbacher will officiate.
Burial will be in Lakeside Cemetery. Military honors will be conducted by St. Clair County Allied Veterans Honor Guard.
Memorials may be made to American Cancer Society.
