Robert Conroy

Robert Francis Conroy, 88, of Port Huron, died peacefully on February 6, 2016, surrounded by his family.

He was born January 31, 1928 in Port Huron to the late Leo and Margaret Conroy. He married Dorothy T. Eifert on April 21, 1951 in St. Joseph Catholic Church. She preceded him in death on September 17, 2008.

Bob served in the U.S. Marine Corps during WWII. He was the owner/operator of P C Gage and Tooling in the Detroit area. Bob was the penalty time keeper for the Port Huron Flags for over 20 years. He was a member of the Elks Club, Port Huron Yacht Club, Eagles Club and the American Legion, Post 8. Bob was an avid golfer and was a member of several leagues.

He especially enjoyed socializing with his family and friends. He was proud of his Irish heritage and walked in the St. Patrick’s Day Parade for many years. Bob always had a smile and a handshake for everyone.

He is survived by two daughters, Kimberly S. (Kenton) Bolt and Kelley L. (Stephen) Bringard; two sons, Timothy Conroy and Todd Conroy; grandchildren, Brandon and Cayce Bolt; and several nieces and nephews. He was also preceded in death by his sister, Eleanor Warsinski.

Mass of Resurrection will be at 1 p.m. Thursday, February 11, 2016 in Holy Trinity Parish - St. Joseph Catholic Church. The Rev. Jeffrey Allan will officiate.

Military honors will be conducted under the auspices of the St. Clair County Veterans Honor Guard.

Visitation will be 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. on Wednesday and 12:00 to 12:30 p.m. on Thursday in Karrer-Simpson Funeral Home.

Elks Lodge of Sorrow will be held at 7 p.m. on Wednesday in the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Disabled American Veterans, Chapter 12 or the Elks Lodge 343.
