Joseph J. Burucs, 91, died Saturday,

August 22, 2009 in Prescott, AZ.

He was born October 14, 1917 in

Port Huron.

Joseph married the former

Kathyleen Stumpff in the early 70's. She has preceded him in death.

He was the baby of the

family, which consisted of three sisters and one brother. Joseph

attended school through his sophomore year, but never graduated from

high school. He traveled around the country when he was a kid

and ended up moving to San Francisco, CA before moving to

Cottonwood, AZ in 1977. He served in the U.S. Army for three years

during WW II and was stationed in the Philippines and New Guinea.

His life's work was a baker for Eckridge Bread Company and also an

Italian Bakery.

Joseph is survived by his sister,

Mary Falk of Munith, MI; nieces, Mary Zerilli of Florissant, MO,

Margaret (Maitland) Doyle of Lennon, MI, Dr. Francine P. Fisher of

Kimball, Anne Marie Young of Munith, MI; nephew, Daniel (Cindy) Falk

of Waukesha, WI and many great nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his

Hungarian parents, Ignatz and Anna (Renger) Burucs; sisters, Anna

Burucs and Elizabeth Burucs-Fisher; brother, Steven Burucs;

sister, Margaret Burucs-Beauchamp and his nephew George Britton Fisher.

Funeral services will be 10am

Monday in St. Joseph Church. The Rev. Brian K. Cokonougher will

officiate. Burial will follow in Mt. Hope Cemetery with military

honors under auspices of the St. Clair County Allied Veterans

Council.

Visiting hours are 1-4 pm Sunday

in the Karrer-Simpson Funeral Home and 9:30 am Monday at the church.

A rosary will be recited at 3:30 pm on Sunday.

Memorials may be given to St.

Joseph Church.
