Charles Douglas Doan, 68, of Lakeport, passed away after a long illness on Thursday, April 7, 2016, surrounded by his family.
He was born February 18, 1948 to the late Clifford and Helen Doan. He married Terri Ann Loane on June 24, 1967 in St. Edward on-the Lake Catholic Church in Lakeport.
He retired from Mueller Brass in February 2013 after almost 45 years working in the rod mill. He loved deer hunting and spending time with his family at “The Cabin” in Roscommon, Michigan.
He is survived by his loving wife, Terri; his four children, Char (Toby) Marsh, Chuck (Jennifer) Doan Jr., Carrie (Corey) Ongie and Christie Doan; his grandchildren, Rachel (Jerry) White, Adam (Charli) Marsh, Nicole (Daniel) Remick, Brandon Doan and MacKenzie Doan, James Ongie, Jase Ongie; and great grandchildren, Madison Stanko, Landon White, Jayden Landry, Maycee Marsh, Kade Marsh, Brayden Remick and Rayleigh Remick; his sisters, Ilene Pederson, Sandra Doan and Denise Gregg; his brother, Gregory Doan; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Clifford Doan, George Doan, Anthony Doan, and Jeffrey Doan, and his sisters Nancy Kogelschatz and Sharon Short.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. - 1 p.m. Saturday in Lakeport Wesleyan Church.
Funeral services will follow at 1 p.m., Saturday, April 9, 2016 in Lakeport Wesleyan Church. The Reverend Renee Leslie will officiate
Burial will be in the Lakeport Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to the wishes of the family.
