Robert Hammond Higgins, 92 of Yale, died

Friday, November 27, 2009 in Medilodge of Yale following a long

illness.

He was born July 30, 1917 in

Vassar and has lived in the Yale area most of his life.

Robert married the former Maxine

A. Kile. She preceded him in death on July 24, 2007.

Robert was a graduate of Yale High

School. He served in the U.S. Navy during W.W. II and was a

self-employed contractor. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening and

spending time with his family.

He is survived by his son, William

R. (Marge) Higgins of Yale; son, James H. (Carol) Higgins of

Goodrich; son, Thomas K. (Patricia) Higgins of Yale; daughter,

Barbara L. (Paul) Postill of Marysville; grandchildren, Timothy

(Michelle) Higgins, David Higgins, Guy (Claudine) Higgins, Lisa

(William) Bush, Michael Higgins, Katie Higgins, Kristie (Richard)

Newton, David (Laura) Postill, Mark (Rebekka) Postill, Daniel Downs

and Emilie Downs; great-grandchildren, Courtney, Erica, Dawson,

Emerald, Maggie, Morgan, Blake, Makenna, Jaden, Gavin, Ryan, Brooke;

sister, Dorothy (Paul) Robbins; sister-in-law, Helen Higgins and several nieces and nephews.

Robert was preceded in death by his

parents William H. and Meltha E. (Proctor) Higgins and brother Harold

Higgins.

Memorial services will be announced at

a later date.
