Corey Richard Blake, 28, of Port Huron, died unexpectedly on Wednesday, November 16, 2016.
He was born March 2, 1988 in Port Huron to Richard “Bill” and Lori Blake Jr.
He was a 2006 graduate of Port Huron High School and received his Bachelors of Science in Forestry from Michigan State University.
Corey was employed with the City of Port Huron in the Forestry, Parks and Recreation Division. He was a member of Faith Lutheran Church and enjoyed hunting, fishing, and watching Star Wars and Marvel movies.
He was patriotic and was a loving son, brother, grandson, uncle, nephew, cousin, godfather and fiancé.
He is survived by his parents, Richard “Bill” and Lori Blake Jr.; his sister, Lindsay E. Blake and Kevin Johnson; his fiancée, Lindsay Teichow; his grandparents, Carol and Don Schultz; aunts, Paula (Curtis) Myers and Rebekah Armstrong; uncle, Thomas (Andrea) Heddle II; aunts, Andrea (Scott) McLeod and Colleen (Steve) Itrich; uncle, Joe (Judy) Blake; special cousins, Jeremy, Jordan, Daniel, Jacob, Tommy, Levi, Austin, Garrett, Sara, Matthew, Brooklynn, Joe, Jon, Jacob, Jim, Julia, Jordan and Siera; godsons, Beau Teichow and Ryan Brockman; his in-laws, Randy and Lynn Teichow, Jason (Amanda) Teichow, Justin (Samantha) Teichow, Elizabeth Teichow, Leah Teichow, Ben Teichow and Beau Teichow; and many friends and co-workers. He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Thomas Heddle; great-grandparents, Stan and Dorothy Schultz, and Richard and Kathaleen Blake; great-grandmother, Evelyn Stalker; and great-great aunt, Gloria Brown.
Visitation will be from 2-9 p.m. Tuesday in the Karrer-Simpson Funeral Home.
Memorial services will be 1 p.m. Wednesday, November 23, 2016 in Faith Lutheran Church with visitation one hour prior to the service. The Reverend John Carrier will officiate.
Memorials may be given to the Crohn’s and Colitis Foundation of America or Cure Autism Now Foundation.
