Donald Kuehn
Donald Herbert Kuehn, 87, of Fort Gratiot, died Thursday, February 16, 2017.
He was born March 12, 1929, in Blaine to the late Hugo and Caroline Kuehn. He married Dorothy J. Shaw on June 16, 1956, in Port Huron.
Donald served in the U.S. Air Force Air Sea Rescue during the Korean War and the United States National Guard.
He was employed as a journeyman pipefitter, retiring from Ford Motor Company. He previously worked at Grand Trunk Western Railroad and Fellows & Stewart Shipyard in California.
Don and Dorothy traveled to every state in the United States and many foreign countries. He was an avid fisherman and hunter, but most of all he loved spending time with his grandchildren. His was a life well lived.
He is survived by his wife, Dorothy J.; his three children, Nancy Kuehn, Donald (Julie) Kuehn, and James (Ruth) Kuehn; his five grandchildren, Joshua (Kelly), Don Jr., Brittney, Taylor and James Hunter; his three great-grandchildren, Torin, Macy and Brooklyn; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by three brothers, Russell, Elmer and Richard; and a sister, Hazel.
Visitation will be 2-4 and 7-9 p.m., Monday in the Karrer-Simpson Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, February 21, 2017, in the Karrer-Simpson Funeral Home. His grandson, Joshua Kuehn, will officiate.
Burial will be in Lakeside Cemetery. Military honors will be conducted by the U.S. Air Force and the St. Clair County Allied Veterans Honor Guard.
