Velma J Kennedy

Velma J. Kennedy, 77, of Port Huron, died Wednesday, April 26, 2017.

She was born June 23, 1939 in Port Huron to the late Irvin and Vernice Houle. She married Patrick J. Kennedy on May 9, 1956 in St. Joseph Catholic Church, Port Huron. He preceded her in death on July 7, 1999.

Velma was a graduate of Port Huron High School.

She loved bingo and her computer.

She is survived by her four children, Jeffrey P. Kennedy, Terry M. Kennedy, John F. (Karen) Kennedy and Maureen M. Kennedy; nine grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; three sisters, Sharon (Duane) Towers, Florence Hoffstead and Jeri Lynn Dicks; brother, David (Yvonne) James; sister-in-law, Janice (Donald) Rank; and many nieces and nephew. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Cheryl Ann Kennedy and her brother, Charles James.

Funeral services will be held at 7 p.m. Sunday, April 30, 2017 at Karrer-Simpson Funeral Home with visitation from 4 p.m. until the time of service.

Burial will be in St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Cemetery in Lewiston, Michigan.
