Raymond Charles Roberts, 81, of Port Huron Township, died Wednesday, May 31, 2017.

He was born January 19, 1936, in Port Huron, to the late Norman and Ivy Roberts. He married Marilyn M. Hessling on September 28, 1963, in Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Ruth.

Raymond served in the U.S. Army and was later employed at the Mueller Brass Company, retiring in 2003, after 47 ½ years of service.

He was a member of Holy Trinity Parish - St. Stephen Catholic Church. He loved to garden, but most of all his family was very important to him.

He is survived by his wife, Marilyn M. Roberts; his four children, Christopher C. (Karen) Roberts of Clyde Township, Lori M. (Larry) McPhail of Fort Gratiot, Connie L. (John) Walker of Port Huron and Kimberly R. (Tim) Ferguson of Marysville; his ten grandchildren; his three great-grandchildren; his three brothers, Frank Roberts of Port Huron Township, James (Nancy) Roberts of Kimball Township and Edmond (Barbra) Roberts of Seymous, Tennessee; his sister-in-law, Dorothy Noble of West Branch, Michigan; and his brother-in-law, Gerald Booms of Ubly. He was preceded in death by his parents, Norman and Ivy Roberts; his brother, Norman Roberts; his brother-in-law, Gene Noble; his sister-in-law, Georgeanne Booms; his mother-in-law, Agnes Hessling; and his father-in-law George Hessling.

Visitation will be 2-8 p.m. Tuesday in Karrer-Simpson Funeral Home. A Rosary will be recited at 7:30 p.m. in the funeral home.

A Memorial Mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, June 7, 2017 in Holy Trinity Parish - St. Stephen Catholic Church with visitation one hour prior to the service. The Reverend Salvatore Palazzolo will officiate.

Inurnment will be in Mt. Hope Cemetery. Military honors will be conducted by the United States Army and the St. Clair County Allied Veterans Honor Guard.
