Phyllis Theresa Egan, 86, of Clyde Township, died Saturday, July 1, 2017.

She was born February 20, 1931 in St. Clair to the late Leonard F. and Mary P. Thomas. She married Daniel T. Egan on August 25, 1956 in St. Mary’s Catholic Church, St. Clair. He preceded her in death on June 25, 2009.

Phyllis was a graduate of St. Clair High School and was employed as a bank teller for many years at Commercial and Savings and Michigan National Bank.

She was a member of Holy Trinity - St. Joseph Catholic Church and enjoyed casino trips, bowling, playing cards and ceramics.

She is survived by her four children, Mary Katherine Egan, Judy M. (Paul) Richter, Michael John Egan and Patricia J. Plant (Mark Symon); five grandchildren, Danny Plant (fiancé Sarah Johnson), Brian Richter, Joey Richter, Zachary Plant and Nicholas Plant; her great-granddaughter, Elizabeth Emery; two siblings, George (Char) Thomas and Shirley Smith; son-in-law, John Plant; her adopted son, John Roche; and best friend, Peggy Stockwell.

Visitation will be 2-8 p.m. Thursday in the Karrer-Simpson Funeral Home. A Rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. in the funeral home.

Mrs. Egan will lie in state at Holy Trinity Parish - St. Joseph Catholic Church on Friday, July 7, 2017 from 10 a.m. until the Funeral Mass at 11 a.m. The Reverend Salvatore Palazzolo and Reverend George F. Askar Jr. will officiate.

Burial will be in Mt. Hope Cemetery. Her grandsons will serve as pallbearers.

Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
