Bonnie Louise Winn

Bonnie Louise Winn, 83, of Fort Gratiot, died Wednesday, August 30, 2017.

She was born July 12, 1934 in Hazel Park to the late Lawrence and Boneta Hepner. She met the love of her life, Gerald R. Winn, in 1952. Within one week, they were married on August 10, 1952 in Bonnie’s parent’s home in St. Clair. They were married for 65 years.

Bonnie was a very generous person whose gift was to take care of others. She worked at Children’s Hospital in Mt. Clemens, the Children’s Shelter in Port Huron and opened her home in Avoca to foster care. Most of all, she enjoyed spending time with her family.

She is survived by her husband, Jerry Winn; one son, Larry (Kathy) Winn; her daughter-in-law, Linda Winn; her two sisters, Joyce Curman and Ruthanne (Dave) Stout; seven grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her two sons, Lester and Kurt Winn; her daughter, Aleatha Priehs; and her sister, Marijo Bancroft.

Visitation will be 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Saturday in the Karrer-Simpson Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be 3 p.m. Sunday, September 3, 2017 in Karrer-Simpson Funeral Home. The Reverend Brian Ake will officiate.

Memorials may be made to the wishes of the family.
