Frederick A. 'Rick' Mechan

Frederick Ambrose Rick Mechan, 39, of Port Huron died August 10, 2010.

He was born August 28, 1970 in Port Huron son of the late Frederick C. and Mary E. (Pelton) Mechan.

Rick was a 1988 graduate of Port Huron Northern High School. He was a member of the Blue Water League of the Blind and a faithful member of the Port Huron Catholic Community.

He is survived by his sisters, Tami (John) Cuthbertson of Fort Gratiot and Mary Rose (Tim) Nave of Canton, MI; brother Greg (Shannon) Mechan of Grand Rapids nieces, Christine and Rachel Cuthbertson, Sarah and Emily Mechan and nephew John JR Cuthbertson.

Mass of Resurrection will be 10 am Saturday in St. Joseph Catholic Church. The Rev. Brian K. Cokonougher, Pastor will officiate. Burial will follow in Mt. Hope Cemetery.

Visiting hours are 2-4 & 6-8 pm Friday in the Karrer-Simpson Funeral Home and 9am Saturday at the church. A rosary will be recited at 7 pm Friday evening.

Memorials may be given to the Blue Water League of the Blind or St. Joseph Catholic Church.
