Martin R. Gostinger

Martin R. Gostinger, 89, of Kimball Township, died Tuesday, January 23, 2018.

He was born November 10, 1928 in Port Huron, to the late Frank and Mary Gostinger. He married Mildred R. Brackenbury in 1972 in Port Huron. She preceded him in death, May 1, 2003.

Martin was a graduate of St. Stephen High School.

Nicknamed “Sunshine” by his family, Martin enjoyed building, working on cars, fixing anything he could and he was an avid gardner.

He is survived by his daughter, Lisa L. (Jean-Yves) Chretien; two grandchildren, Nicolas and Morgane Chretien; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his son, Robert Martin Gostinger; and seven siblings.

Visitation will be 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday in the Karrer-Simpson Funeral Home. A Rosary will be recited at 6 p.m. in the funeral home.

Mr. Gostinger will lie in state at Holy Trinity Parish - St. Stephen Catholic Church on Saturday, January 27, 2018 from 10 a.m. until the time of the Funeral Mass at 11 a.m. The Very Reverend Salvatore Palazzolo, K.H.S. will officiate.

Memorials may be made to Holy Trinity Parish - St. Stephen Catholic Church.

Burial will be in Mt. Hope Cemetery.
