Edith Marie Porrett, 82, passed away Monday, September 13, 2010, after a long illness.
She was born December 12, 1927 in Port Huron.
She married Jack R. Porrett on July 5, 1946 in Port Huron. He died August 2, 1975
Edith enjoyed watching old movies and watching golf on television, although she never played herself. She also enjoyed reading and going for car rides, especially by the water. She always loved her tea and cookies.
She was a very loving mother and grandmother and enjoyed the company of her family.
She is survived by her children, Sandra (Dennis) Green of Port Huron Twp., Jack R. (Karen) Porrett Jr of Detroit and Neil Martin Porrett of New Jersey; grandchildren, Brian R. Jonseck, Tracy M. Jonseck, Michelle Porrett (Jack Scott), Jackson Porrett, Justin Porrett, Amber Porrett, Brittany, Michael and David; great grandchildren, Lainie, and Ryan; 4 step-grandchildren; sisters, Lula (Don) Bourne and Linda (John) Herber; special nieces, Judy, Beverly and Debbie; several nieces and nephews.
She was also preceded in death by her parents Louis and Zadia Howard and her siblings, Betty, Joyce, Mary and Bob.
Funeral services will be 12:30 pm Friday at Karrer-Simpson Funeral Home. The Rev. Max Amstutz will officiate. Burial will follow in Riverlawn Cemetery. Visiting hours are 10 am until the service time Friday at the funeral home.
Memorials may be made to the wishes of the family
