Margaret Simpson

Margaret A. Simpson, 83, died Thursday, November 4, 2010 from complications after receiving a flu shot.
She was born September 23, 1927 in Port Huron to the late John and Edith Carpa. She married Frank C. Simpson on May 17, 1947 in St. Joseph Church. He preceded her in death on October 8, 1998.
Margaret was a graduate of St. Stephens High School. She worked as a bookkeeper at various places, finally retiring from Fuel Gas in Wadhams. She was a co-owner along with her husband and son of the F.C. Simpson Lime Company and was the Grandma of Grandma's Greenhouse. She was a previous parishioner and council member of Holy Rosary Church in Smiths Creek for many years. She loved to knit and crochet.
She is survived by her son Kurt (Joan) Simpson; grandchildren, David and Jon Simpson, Carrie Lint and Cassie Olson; 10 great grandchildren; sisters, Joy MacPherson and Dawn (Steve) Rushton and her K-9 companion Babe.
She was also preceded in death by her son Michael; sister-in-law Marty; brother John Carpa and sister Mary Fuqua.
A Mass of Resurrection will be celebrated 10 am. Monday at St. Stephens Church. The Rev. Joseph Gagnon will officiate. Burial will follow in Caswell Cemetery.
Visiting hours are 2-4 & 6-9 pm. Sunday at Karrer-SImpson Funeral Home and Monday from 9:30 am. until the service time at church.
Memorials may be made made to St. Vincent de Paul at Holy Trinity Parish.
